The Chinese firm is excited and believes if the test order is well received volumes will be monthly. This same Chinese firm is actively looking for value added JV opportunities in the Forestry Industry. January 6, 2010 Mexico – Environmental Innovations: Meetings with several of Mexico’s largest energy consumers with a specialized Canadian Energy Savings manufacturing company has yielded MOU’s for national distribution in several sectors. December 1, 2009 Hong Kong – Skin Care: All Natural Canadian ointment producer signed distribution agreement with Hong-Kong’s leading on-line skin care retailer and distributor in early November. In early January the Hong Kong firm will be launching a 50 store retail roll-out. November 12, 2009 Japan – Food and Beverage: Northern Canadian honey producer received 3rd advance payment of over $240K this week. Canada Export Centre has helped to sell over $750,000 in honey in last 12 months to Japan. October 19, 2009 Asia – Construction: Taiwanese company has contracted Canada Export Centre to help them build a paint manufacturing plant in Taiwan. The plant is being built of ISO9000 Standards and will produce no waste water and no waste solvents. The contract was signed on October 15th and the design has already started. Expected completion of plant is March 2010. This is the fourth paint plant Canada Export Centre has built in Asia. October 6, 2009 Canada - Construction, Food & Beverages, Pharmaceuticals, Commodities, Apparel: Executives from some of Syria's largest corporations will be hosted by the Canada Export Centre in October. This mission will provide Canadian companies with a more accurate representation of the current Syrian market potential and improve awareness of Syria as a destination for Canadian exports. September 14, 2009 Mexico - Food & Beverages: One of Mexico’s largest confectionary distributors has committed over $1M US to a national advertising campaign exclusively promoting a Canada Export Centre Client’s chocolates. The campaign includes, TV, radio, newspaper, magazine, billboard and models. $400,000 has already been spent developing the campaign and initial product purchases this quarter have shot up over $350,000. August 29, 2009 China – Aviation: Canada Export Centre Beijing completes talks with China’s Ministry of Aviation regarding the sale of a Canadian civilian aircraft manufacturing company to a Chinese firm interested in building the civilian propeller driven aircraft for the local market. This is a huge step towards a successful sale for the Canadian firm. August 10, 2009 Canada – Real Estate: A recent trade mission hosted by the Canada Export Centre has yielded a Chinese $7.5 Million investment in a commercial lot in British Columbia. The total FDI by project completion to exceed $80 Million will house a small office tower and hotel. Construction due to start January 2010. July 29, 2009 Russia – Mining: Final stages of negotiation are complete between Canada Export Centre mining equipment manufacturer and a Russian Gold Mining Company to start a $5.2 Million project in September. Expectations for the Canadian company’s sales in Russia were estimated at $3 Million per year, but CEC business development team has concluded that sales to Russia are expected to exceed $10 Million over the next 18 months. July 8, 2009 Latin America – Food and Beverage: Organic Health bar manufacturing client received $92,000 initial order from Costco Mexico today. Agreed sales volume this year to be $860,000.
June 25, 2009 Latin America – Food and Beverage: Health beverage client signing contract with Costco Mexico to supply alternate milk beverage. First year's sales volumes expected to exceed $500,000 per year. June 17, 2009 China – Education: One of Canada’s most distinguished modelling schools signed representation agreement with Canada Export Centre’s Beijing office today. The office has already hired to famous TV personalities as spokespersons for the company. Within the next 12 months we will see 300 new Chinese students at the modelling school. June 9, 2009 Hong Kong – Consumer Goods: Hong Kong skin care distribution delegation arrived in Vancouver on June 5th. On June 8th, three distribution agreements signed and over $100K in initial orders placed with Canadian Manufacturers. The negotiated sales volumes are going to exceed $2M within the next 12 months. June 5, 2009 Latin America – Food and Beverage: The head of Canada Export Centre - Mexico is pleased to report our Canadian Organic Health Food client is starting production for a 6,600 store chain in Mexico, and is negotiating a distribution contract with Disney - Mexico. Expected sales volumes to exceed $2,400,000 within 12 months. These deals are a result of Canada Export Centre’s trade mission to Mexico this past March. June 2, 2009 Asia – Food and Beverage: Large Asian distributor placed reorder from new $50K Canadian beverage producer. Sale to date exceeding $100K. Sales volumes through the balance of year negotiated at over 1M.
May 26, 2009 China – Construction and Infrastructure: $300,000 dimensional wood order shipped to China today by Canada Export Centre. Our client is building a new residential development in the Guangzhou region. Sales volumes are steadily increasing.
May 12th, 2009 Latin America – Agriculture: Two weeks ago Canada Export Centre Mexico City identified the recent US trade tariffs against some US food producers as a huge opportunity to supply Canadian replacement products. Today a $780,000 contract has just been signed between a Canada Export Centre client and a Mexican distribution firm.
April 24, 2009 Asia – Energy and Natural Resources: Payment in advance has been received against a $6,000,000 contract signed between a Canada Export Centre client and Asian distribution firm. Advance payment received today in excess of $400,000 contributes to first of 12 shipments.
April 16, 2009 Caribbean – Food and Beverage: Contract signed today with Ontario supplier of Pork to send 1 container a month of frozen pork to the Antilles. Canada Export Centre deals with food and beverage importers and distributors around the world and worked to secure a new source for the buyers within Canada.
April 13, 2009 Middle East – Infrastructure: Heavy equipment wireless remote control manufacturer was identified by a large Saudi EPC through CEC network as a good potential product for the Saudi market. The Canadian company signed a distribution agreement and Saudis are arranging for staff to come to Canada for product training in May, 2009.
April 10, 2009 China – Energy and Natural Resources: Second junket resulting from January visit by Chinese investment completed. Cash investments in excess of $15,000,000 in BC companies under negation. Expected completion date: July 2009
April 7, 2009 Middle East – Construction: Canadian construction company specializing in building iconic buildings around the world engaged CEC to help them identify strong, prospective JV partners in the Middle East. In November 2008, meetings were arranged with five C-level executives of large construction firms in Dubai. In January, the president of the Canadian firm went to ME to explore these relationships in greater depth. An MOU was just signed with the very strong construction company in region and a first order has been received.
April 2, 2009 Korea – Food and Beverage: Canadian water company has engaged CEC to help build overseas sales. CEC introduced them to one of the largest beverage distributors in Korea. Three containers are currently en-route to Korea. The client is now bottling for another CEC contact in Kuwait and also attended a CEC trade mission in Mexico to meet with Mexico’s largest grocery store chains.
March 30, 2009 China – Construction and Infrastructure: CEC China trade manager identified a large government project to build an environmental theme park. He identified the person in charge of wood procurement for the project and was informed there were no Canadian bidders. He put together a proposal – last minute - to compete with a US supplier. In last week of March, the Chinese indicated they liked the proposal and pricing. In early April, the Chinese buyer is meeting directly with the wood supplier to discuss opportunity more deeply. The initial order in excess is $1,100,000.
March 30, 2009 Mexico – Food and Beverage: CEC completes trade mission today with 10 Canadian firms to Mexico. Meetings took place with buyers from 3 of the largest retailers in the country. Mission received strong reviews.
March 27, 2009 China – Construction: Recycled paint manufacturer is in discussions with a CEC’s Chinese client who has purchased several million dollars of paint from Canada in the past. Initial order and LC is now under negotiation.
March 23, 2009 Brazil – Food and Beverage: Nutritional supplement manufacturer aiming to introduce brand to Brazil and Korea is preparing to sign engagement contracts with distributors in both markets identified by CEC. In both cases the distributors are aiming at national distribution.
March 19, 2009 China – Agriculture: Large Chinese company engaged CEC to identify a long term guaranteed supply of fertilizer input from Canada. The appropriate Canadian manufacturer has been identified, pricing has been agreed, an initial LC has been drafted and the Chinese will meet with the central Canada supplier in early April to sign an agreement for a minimum $6,000,000 product order over the next 12 months.
March 16, 2009 Columbia – Energy and Natural Resources: Canadian mining equip manufacturer engaged CEC to focus on exploratory drilling projects in Colombia as part of a two-phase project. First phase consisted of a market assessment that included breakdown of the market size, key players, value chain analysis and potential barriers to entry. Second phase involved identification of potential buyers. Based on findings in Phase I, client moved forward with an effective strategy for Phase II, and a suitable partner was identified by CEC. Colombian distributor has begun promoting client’s products in market. Market valued at US$ 1.2 billion.
March 13, 2009 Brazil – Food and Beverage: Specialty cereal producer from Singapore is now engaging large food distributor in Brazil to private label for national distribution. Brazil is currently working on branding and labelling to suit the Brazil market. Sales volumes agreed - $250,000 per month.
March 11th, 2009 China – Manufacturing: Western Canadian Electrical component manufacturer engaged CEC to conduct a small outsourcing project in China. Initial order was delivered. This the first time the Canadian client has had success outsourcing to China. A second major order is currently being prepared.
March 9, 2009 Russia – Energy and Natural Resources: CEC team identifies new distribution channel for Canadian remote equipment site supplier. Russian distributor identified by CEC. will be showcasing the Canadian client at largest geological exploration trade show in Russia on client’s behalf. Products have already been introduced to Russian Military and projected revenues are in excess of $US 1 million in 2009, escalating to $3 million annually in 2010.
March 4, 2009 Mexico - Construction: CEC Mexico office identified a government project to build 300,000 low income homes. CEC contacted a Canadian client which manufactures high-quality recycled paint for about 20% of the cost of regular paint. Samples are being delivered March 20th, 2009. February 26, 2009 Iran – Consumer Products: Iran’s largest soap distributor is developing labeling to distribute another CEC client’s environmentally friendly cleaning products. First major order for stocking in all major super markets is slated for May.
February 23, 2009 Korea – Construction: Canadian log home contractor hosted two visits at their head office in BC from leading Korean distributors identified by CEC. The plans are now in place to partner with both in order to introduce their unique Canadian log homes aggressively in the Korean market. Korean company already has very strong success in custom home building and sourcing log homes from US but is eager to replace with a strong Canadian partner.
February 16, 2009 Korea – Food and Beverage: Gourmet confectionary supplier looking to expand in Asia currently engaging with a Korean distributor identified by CEC. 3,000 sample products sent to Korea for retail taste testing as well as presentations to distributors for leading coffee chains, department stores, convenient stores and 5 star hotels. First major order is being prepared for late spring.
February 11, 2009 Japan – Food and Beverage: Canadian honey producer’s entire capacity is being sold to one CEC buyer in Japan. The last order in March 2009 was $260,000. With CEC’s guidance, the producer is moving from bulk sales to branded, smaller sizes for higher profits.
January 15, 2009 Asia – Food and Beverage: Wine supplier seeking to expand market reach to Asia and Latin America is currently working with distributors in China, Japan and Mexico identified and qualified by CEC. Pending orders in excess of 5,000 MT per annum. Sales to date through CEC exceed $3,000,000.
January 21, 2009 China – Energy and Natural Resources: CEC welcomes first of 12 scheduled mining investment junkets to Canada. Eight pre-vetted investments presented by CEC to investor group from China. Serious interest found in 3 of the opportunities presented. Subsequent trip and site visits planned for April 2009.
